Stamp Concrete

Stamped concrete is concrete that is patterned and/or textured or embossed to resemble brick, slate, flagstone, stone, tile, wood, and various other patterns and textures. Stamped concrete is commonly used for patios, sidewalks, driveways, pool decks, and interior flooring. The ability of stamped concrete to resemble other building materials makes stamped concrete a less expensive alternative to using those other authentic materials such as stone, slate or brick.

There are three procedures used in stamped concrete which separate it from other concrete procedures; the addition of a base color, the addition of an accent color, and stamping a pattern into the concrete. These three procedures provide stamped concrete with a color and shape similar to the natural building material. It also is longer lasting than paved stone, and still resembles the look.

Plain Concrete

Plain Concrete is a standard grey cement mixture. It is finished with a "Stipple" creating a slightly textured finish with no aggregate (stones) showing on the surface - A smooth or polished concrete finish is not suitable for paving outdoors as it would create a slippery hazardous surface.

This type of concrete is the cheapest option offered by KP Construction Inc. All concrete paving must be treated with construction joins/cuts to minimise cracking. Spacing of these joins/cuts will be site and design specific.

Sealing of any paved area is highly recommended to minimise fading, staining and cracking.

Exposed Aggregate Concrete

An exposed-aggregate surface is obtained by placing concrete and then removing the outer 'skin' of cement paste to uncover decorative coarse aggregate (either batched into the concrete mix or seeded onto the surface). Because of its durability and skid resistance, an exposed aggregate finish is ideal for most flat work.

Exposed aggregate is highly versatile and contrasts beautifully with plain concrete or other decorative treatments such as stamping, stenciling, staining, and integral coloring.
